Hello, I'm Lauren
owner & Cake designer
I'm a wife and dog mom living on my family's fourth-generation farm. I love coffee, reading, and country music. In my free time, you'll find me spending time with my family, photographing the beauty of the farm, or trying new recipes.
about whisked away

I'm a passionate, self-taught baker proudly serving Macon, Missouri and the surrounding areas. What began as a love for baking over two decades ago has blossomed into a thriving business built on quality, creativity, and genuine care for every customer.
For more than 10 years, I've had the incredible privilege of being part of life's most meaningful celebrations. From first birthday smash cakes that capture precious milestones to elegant wedding cakes that mark the beginning of new journeys, and graduation treats that celebrate hard-earned achievements – each creation is crafted with the same attention to detail and heartfelt dedication.

Where it started

My passion for baking began at an early age in the kitchen of my grandmother’s home. With infinite patience, she guided me as we rolled out pie dough, showed me the secret to her perfectly fluffy bread, and taught me that baking was about so much more than following a recipe—it was about love, tradition, and creating something beautiful to share with others. Today, many of the recipes I use are the same ones that have been lovingly passed down through generations of women in my family.

4H & FFA

I owe a big thanks to 4-H and FFA for where I am today.
When I joined 4-H, I dove into cake decorating, foods, and bread groups—and my passion took root. Over the years, I became a Junior Leader and eventually a Leader in Cake Decorating, mentoring others and watching the same passion I have blossom in youth.
In high school, FFA took my journey to the next level. Whisked Away Confections became my Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), where I learned the keys to entrepreneurship—how to manage finances, market products, and run a professional business.

Fun FACt
During high school, I had the opportunity to showcase my passion for baking through several featured segments on our local television channel. These appearances allowed me to share my knowledge of cake and cupcake decorating with the community, demonstrating various creative techniques and methods that transformed simple baked goods into works of art.
